A damp and gloomy afternoon awaited us for the first return fixture of the season against Old Basing. Having dominated them in the first game of the season we were looking to halt our losing run, losing the toss we were asked to bat.

In amongst the grey and drizzle Tom and Russ continued their fine form with the first few overs going for over 10 an over albeit helped from some erratic bowling. Russ was first to fall and a sign of things to come when he was caught behind. When Tom was the next man out came the collapse with Ty, Andy Tucker, Andy Wade and Jambo all departing without adding to the total. Sebby showed his talent with the bat scoring freely in the drizzle where others struggled, getting the total up to a respectable 123.

Looking to make early breakthroughs, Dan did exactly that with Russ taking a fine catch in the first few overs. As the sun came out batting seemed to get easier but chipping away the game went down to the wire. Even with a late flurry of wickets Old Basing dragged themselves over the line to win by 3 wickets.

Man of the match: Dan taking 3-20 giving us a chance for the win.
Champagne moment: Russ 1 handed diving catch.
