In stark contrast to the proceeding week we arrived at Newfound basked in extreme heat with temperatures reaching 32 degrees. True to form Jambo lost the toss and was asked to field first. After a tight fixture away to AWE losing in the final over we knew that we would have to play well to get a result and got off to the best possible start with Chris bowling their opener for not very many on the scoreboard. AWE then put on a strong partnership reaching 107-1 looking like it would be another long day in the field before Dan as so many times in the past got the crucial break through. Stevie, Chris and Ali all chipped in with important wickets to get them to 162-9 before a wag to the tail got them up to a score of 192.

On a not so unusual up and down pitch the innings got off to a bad start with both Jambo and Woody going early. Sebby promoted up the order after his previous weeks innings showed glimpses of his talent hitting a few boundaries and taking the sting out of the game. Ty being his destructive self launched into his innings hitting some monstrous fours and sixes as he wrestled the game into our favour before being bowled just before drink leaving us on 110-4. Marcel fresh from having a new born son, hit an excellent 34 to go along with his 2 catches, finally getting out leaving us needing 30 with 4 wickets left. Stevie countered well before being bowled with 25 needed. Wickets tumbled before falling 15 short leaving empty handed again.

Man of the match: Marcel with a brilliant 34 and 2 catches
Champagne moment: Yogi taking the important catch in the most casual manner.
Wally of the day: Marcel, for 2 drops.
